Care of instruments
Most musical equipment is fragile and expensive to repair, and you may be charged if you damage anything deliberately or carelessly. Please follow these guidelines when using our equipment.
Wheels on instruments are designed for indoor use only. Please transport the instrument on a trolley or in a vehicle if you need to move it outdoors. Please release the brake before moving the instrument – not only do the brakes make the instrument more difficult to move, they seriously damage the wheels themselves.
Cymbals should be stored and carried horizontally. Please put cymbals in their case or rest them on a cloth, not the floor, when assembling and disassembling stands.
The wooden skin protectors should be kept on the timpani when not in use. Please ensure the wheels are unlocked before moving timpani indoors, and carry them if outdoors. Timpani should never be moved or carried by the rim – please use the frame or bottom of the screws to lift and move the instruments.
Please dry woodwind instruments thoroughly before returning them.
